How to select the right high speed insulated doors: DMF International

    DMF International

High speed roll doors specialist DMF International advises buyers of high speed insulated doors how to make the right selection.

High speed insulating doors are increasingly being adopted across Australia. Offering greater thermal and sound insulation than conventional PVC rapid roll doors, these doors are deal for busy areas that require both speed of operation and preservation of temperature.

Buyers of high speed insulated doors need to be careful when making their choice because not all doors available in the Australian marketplace have the same qualities. When selecting a high speed insulated door, the buyer must enquire about: the thermal properties of the door in its entirety, and not just that of the door slat; door design utilised to prevent temperature conduction via the door slats; quietness of operation; and whether the door is counterweighted for emergency opening.

Some door models in the high speed insulated range have a roller shutter design, using a 10mm thick slat filled with PU foam without interslat thermal protection. This design may suit environments with low thermal differential, but may not perform well as a long term solution or with quietness of operation.
