The Selector Best New Product Award winner was announced last night at the DesignBUILD exhibitor evening, which showcased some of the very latest and most innovative new products available to the industry.

Exhibition Manager Frank Matus said that DesignBUILD has been working successfully with Selector for several years to identify, compare and award the best new products on show. He added that DesignBUILD was proud to be the interactive industry platform hosting innovative designers, suppliers and manufacturers.

According to Mr Matus, award winners at DesignBUILD 2013 have again raised the benchmark in terms of sustainability, design and style, and their accomplishment at DesignBUILD is expected to take their business and products to the next level.

Evo Building Products was chosen the Selector Best New Product Award Winner at DesignBUILD 2013 for its Recoh-Vert heat recovery system.

The Recoh-Vert is a copper counter flow heat exchanger, which functions as a simple grey water heat recovery system that can reclaim 60% of the heat from hot waste water in shower drains, using the Recoh-Vert waste pipe. Given that showering accounts for up to 90% of hot water consumption in a modern household, these savings would reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions.

The first runner up award went to PGH Bricks & Pavers for their Urban Metallic Collection of bricks, which was showcased at DesignBUILD. The Urban Metallic Collection consists of stunning metallic colours such as Bronze Sheen, Copper, Lustre, Silver Spark and Zinc Shimmer, guaranteed to transform any design with the unique metallic finish.

The second runner up award went to Godfrey Hirst Carpets for the eco+ Soft to Touch 'Sunrise' carpet that combines practical advantages with next generation luxurious softness. Godfrey Hirst eco+ Soft to Touch carpets offer new levels of resistance to stain, soil and wear in addition to colourfast performance. Backed by lifetime stain, pet and soil guarantees and 25-year wear and colourfast guarantees, the eco+ range also carries green credentials, featuring next generation DuPont Sorona polymer made from natural corn sugar that generates less greenhouse gases to produce than nylon.

The Selector Best New Product Award judging panel included John De Manicor - Architect and Founding Partner of Draw, Paul Brace - Director at Jackson Teece, and Olivia Hyde - Senior Practice Director at BVN Donovan Hill.
