    Frequently Asked Questions

The main benefits of installing a DECKER deck is the low maintenance requirements. As a wood plastic composite, DECKER is comprised of 60% wood fibre and around 40% recycled plastic. As a predominately wood productyou get the natural beauty of timber with the durability provided by the plastic component. More than that, DECKER is made nearly 100% recycled materials, which means no deforestation.
WPCstands for Wood Plastic Composites and is often referred to as simply "Plastic Decking" or "Composite Decking". Decker is a WPC and may be referred to as WPC, Plastic or Composite Decking but should be referred to as "Engineered Recycled Wood". We believe wood looks amazing, but wood is a limited resource that can be put to better use.
DECKER is comprised of approximately 60% wood fibres and 40% polyethylene plastic with some chemical additives to enable extensive longevity of the composite. The materials are predominately recycled, so there is no deforestation and the plastics we use save thousands of tonnes of landfill every year.
We were one fo the first companies to introduce fibres rather than flour in to our production methods. This is particularly important as the industry had some failures of composites using wood flour rather than wood fibre several years back. Wood fibres are more costly to acquire, thus there are still many which use wood flour. However, flour is regarded by many experts as an inferior product.
DECKER is owned by the Delgeo Group in Australia. The Delgeo Group is an Australian company which was established in 1997 and has been a global supplier of composites since 1999 with proven in major residential and commercial projects and NO warranty claims as at the date of writing.
