Saturday Indesign 2023 took place in Melbourne and Autex Acoustics was excited to participate in the magic of the weekend.

In partnership with HOW Group, Autex Acoustics hosted design professionals and enthusiasts from across Victoria at HOW’s Melbourne showroom to discover our latest product launch, Lanes, our range of workstation solutions, and our new colours.

Autex and HOW also joined forces with the next generation of designers from RMIT University for this year’s Saturday Indesign project.

Across six weeks, 3rd and 4th-year architecture and design students worked collaboratively with Autex and HOW to brainstorm, develop, and manufacture an interactive installation made entirely from Autex Acoustics Cube.

The students initially presented four individual design proposals, each inspired by the project theme, Utopia, and a jury of judges from Autex, HOW, and RMIT selected one winning design for development and installation.

The chosen design, Framing Conversations, was a provocation for imagining a utopian future – where the community could come together through conversation. Autex Acoustics’ in-house design team walked the students through the process of working with Cube acoustic panels and our Frontier ceiling system to create a thought-provoking, sensory experience spanning the entire length of the HOW showroom.

The installation was enjoyed by Saturday Indesign visitors and special guests the evening prior at an exclusive, invite-only soiree celebrating the start of the much-anticipated design weekend.
