The ACO Polycrete SlabDrain system with Heelsafe anti-slip grates was installed at King George Square, a public domain located adjacent to Brisbane City Hall.
The latest upgrade, influenced by an award winning design involved the installation of a compact surface drainage system in a public space to be regularly used by pedestrians.
Designers selected ACO’s SlabDrain H300K system as it was shallow enough to fit above the structural beams of the carpark’s suspended concrete roof slab. Heelsafe stainless anti-slip grates were also specified by Urbis to meet the requirements for slip resistance while preventing stiletto heels from being trapped.
Other ACO products used in this project included ACO Access galvanised cover and frame systems and various ACO drain systems.
