Interface, Inc. the global flooring solutions company and sustainability leader, in partnership with leading design and construction company Sheldon, has unveiled a workplace project that brings together effortless design, sustainability, and Connection to Country principles in a bold, future-focused office space.

The project was conceived as a “living showroom”, designed to seamlessly fuse new and old materials, create a warm, sensory experience, and demonstrate how workplaces can deliver both human connection and high performance without compromising on sustainability.

“The whole design was about effortless transitions inspired by nature. We wanted people to feel a sense of belonging, as if the space itself was giving them a warm hug,” said Tegan Fordred, Designer – Sheldon.

Design that flows

With a moody, warm colour palette and seamless floor transitions, the space flows naturally, zoning areas without hard divisions. Lighting plays a critical role, with circadian rhythm technology shifting from morning to afternoon to boost mood and productivity. Combined with abundant natural light, the design enhances employee wellbeing and creates a workplace that feels alive, inviting, and deeply human.

Sustainability without compromise

From modular joinery to reusable elements, every product was carefully vetted for its ethical supply chain and sustainability credentials. Interface’s flooring products helped the project meet Green Star and WELL rating targets, while also enhancing sound absorption, texture, and visual impact.

Connection to Country and local manufacturing

Both Interface and Sheldon embrace the Connection to Country framework as a guiding principle to design, ensuring the project honoured people, culture, and community. With both companies manufacturing locally in Australia, the collaboration also supported local jobs, reduced carbon emissions, and created a positive impact for the environment and community.
