Tarkett Australia has unveiled a full range of floor and wall solutions designed to enhance wellbeing in healthcare, aged care and education environments. Tarkett’s new collections of heterogeneous vinyl flooring and wall coverings – Excellence and ProtectWALL – combine design and performance to take on the most demanding technical and health requirements of these facilities.

Light as inspiration

Light is one of the most important elements in the design of any space as it contributes to the health and happiness of future occupants. Keeping in mind the unique needs of schools, hospitals and care facilities, Tarkett’s Design Studio drew inspiration from the many benefits of light to create the new vinyl flooring and wall covering collections. The new collections, Excellence and ProtectWALL, are designed to generate wellness and warmth in any space, revitalise and infuse energy, and encourage interaction and social connections. The new collections are available in a full spectrum of colours, patterns and textures to create warm, cheerful and healthy environments.

With the launch of Excellence and ProtectWALL, Tarkett now offers architects, designers, professionals and customers a complete solution for the entire building. The new matching collections for floors and walls offer infinite creative possibilities: mix and match hues and patterns across floor coverings, and combine them with wall solutions to create bespoke, original and modern interiors.

Excellence: the largest colour and design selection

Featuring the largest colour and design range on the commercial heterogeneous market today, Tarkett’s Excellence vinyl flooring collection is designed to withstand the intense daily wear that can be expected in healthcare, aged care and education environments. With over 250 options available in attractive hues and patterns, the Excellence collection offers the flexibility of choice to create unique ambiences from floor to wall.

Tarkett’s Excellence is particularly adapted for floors in schools, hospitals and care homes as well as stores, hotels and offices. Excellence's high matte finish softens light reflecting off the flooring for a more realistic look as well as additional occupant comfort. Excellence is available in compact, acoustic, tile and loose-lay profiles.

ProtectWALL: match your walls perfectly to your floors

ProtectWALL wall coverings are designed to protect and keep walls in healthcare, education and hospitality venues in good condition for a long time. ProtectWALL masks scratches, absorbs shocks, and can be easily cleaned (even stains) with basic cleaning materials. These wall coverings keep renovation costs down compared to paint, while retaining the new look of walls and doors in rooms and corridors. With 50 references compatible with the Excellence range, the collection allows multiple creative possibilities. ProtectWALL also comes in a dedicated version for clean rooms.

100% phthalate-free flooring solutions

Tarkett’s new collections help create healthy environments with their 100% phthalate-free formulations. With phthalates being red-flagged for their potential impact on human health, Tarkett has selected plasticiser alternatives that are approved for food containers and toys for young children. The 100% phthalate-free heterogeneous vinyl collections are designed to enhance occupant wellbeing and comfort. The new collections also contribute to good indoor air quality, which is crucial as people spend 90% of their time indoors.

Both Excellence and ProtectWALL floor and wall coverings have minimal VOC levels – the level of total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs) is over 100 times lower than the EU standard EN-ISO 16000-9. The new collections are also fully recyclable and eligible for Tarkett’s ReStart programme.
