Hundreds of entries for the 2014 Victorian Premier Design Awards have been released by Good Design and the Victorian Government including 29 projects in the Architectural Design category.

Launched in 2012, the Awards recognise and reward effective and sustainable Victorian design. Entries come from a range of industries and are grouped in six categories: Architectural, Service, Industrial and Product, Communication and Digital Design as well as Design Strategy.

Listed in the Architectural Design category are 29 projects ranging from interior retail fit outs to large-scale institution designs. A few notable projects include the Melton Library and Learning Hub by Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp, the Bendigo Library by MSG architects and The Quays by McBride Charles Ryan.

A total of 52 products have been entered in the Product Design category and range in everything from house hold appliances to immediate response shelters for natural disaster prone areas. Some notable products include the D900+ LED Downlight’s from Brightgreen, the Amélie Bath by Rogerseller and the Immediate Response Shelter by Charlwood Design.

The entries will now face the scrutiny of 19 judges who have been picked from around the world to choose the winners to be announced in September.
