With the C6 Tower in Perth receiving the green light, the stage is set for the project to become the world’s tallest hybrid timber building. The development located at 6 Charles Street near the Perth Zoo will also overshadow Melbourne’s 55 Southbank Street, which currently holds the record as Australia’s tallest timber building.

At 191.2 metres, the Perth tower designed by Elenberg Fraser eclipses the Bates Smart-designed Melbourne building, which stands at 69.7 metres and is renowned for its innovative use of engineered timber.

Approximately 42% of the C6 Tower will be constructed from engineered timber, marking a significant step forward in sustainable construction practices. The building will house more than 200 apartments across its 50 storeys.

The C6 tower will not only be an impressive addition to Perth’s skyline but also set new standards in sustainable construction. As Australia continues to embrace innovative and eco-friendly design solutions, we can expect to see more of such architectural marvels in the future.
