McVeigh Consultants has signalled its intent to grow as a practice, with the Queensland practice planning to branch deeper into other markets through the acquisition of key architects and engineers.
The firm indicates it will expand its personnel in the retail, multi-residential and education sectors. McVeigh Consultants CEO Yasmine Gray says that while the markets are not unfamiliar to the practice, it is hoped that an expansion in footprint will deliver a more consistent and dynamically varied offering.
“We have experience in a wide array of typologies; however, our core expertise and focus has been in the industrial market over recent years. We will continue to deliver for this very important and still growing market as our knowledge is second to none in that space,” she says.
“However, we now have the talent and resources to take on a greater volume of more diverse projects and we look forward to showing the market what we can do.”
Imran Naeem will make the move from Sydney to join McVeigh as an Associate Structural Engineer. Naeem has strong expertise in residential, commercial, educational and health projects and says he looks forward to leading teams on new projects.
“I have been so impressed by McVeigh’s support with my relocation to Queensland. It is wonderful to be joining such a great and talented team,” he says.
“McVeigh has many strengths, and I am looking forward to using my diverse engineering background and core strength in the building sector to reinforce this. I joined McVeigh to make a positive impact on the business and I am very confident with the help of such a great, established team we will achieve some big milestones this year and beyond.”
McVeigh’s Senior Associate Architect, Elliot Blucher, says the evolution of the practice will be aided by the expansion of its architectural team.
“McVeigh’s integrated design model means we can offer something completely different from the traditional architecture firms,” he says.
“I am very proud of the architecture team we have built, the passion and creativity I see every day is inspiring and our unique way of working with our engineers is both compelling and exciting. We can’t wait to show how strong our team is beyond industrial and the value we have to offer.”
Despite the continued efforts to recruit and expand, Grey says there is no rush to put all the building blocks in place, with the CEO determined to maintain a key focus on quality and putting people first.
“Whatever we do we will put our people first at McVeigh – it is our people that will help drive this business to success and with the talent we have at present I am confident we can go from a good company to a great one.
“The future for us is bright and our approach will remain unique and innovative. We aim to lead rather than to follow and as we bring more great people onto our teams I am looking forward to seeing where our new adventures will take us.”
