Baresque elevates education design with acoustic and aesthetic harmony at Westcare ELC

The newly completed Westcare Early Learning Centre is redefining early childhood environments with its Montessori-inspired, purpose-built facility designed by MGiD. With a strong focus on fostering exploration and imagination, the centre integrates state-of-the-art design elements and materials to deliver both functionality and visual appeal.

Engaged early in the project, Baresque played a pivotal role in crafting a calm and acoustically-balanced space. In collaboration with SM Cabinets, Baresque supplied tailored acoustic and upholstery solutions that support the sensory needs of young learners.

To manage acoustics in the large, open-plan layout, Zintra Box Baffles Random were selected for their excellent sound-absorbing qualities and striking visual design. Finished in Eucalyptus and Spotted Gum, these baffles define various zones within the space while contributing natural warmth and texture. Complementary acoustic ceiling panels were wrapped in matching materials to extend design continuity across the centre’s interiors.

Designer Maria Gianquitto specified a refined combination of durable, healthcare-grade fabrics to withstand the demands of an early learning environment. Upholstery selections included Endurepel Moritz Fundamentals II, Petal Dots, and Calypso, sourced from trusted brands such as Endurepel, CF Stinson, and Burch. These fabrics feature Crypton technology and Endurepel shield protection, providing water resistance, anti-bacterial properties, and long-lasting performance – all essential for high-traffic, child-focused settings.

The result is a thoughtful, sensory-friendly educational environment that balances beauty with practical resilience – an inspiring space where learning and creativity flourish.
