Situated in the heart of the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, just north of Melbourne’s CBD, Kyneton Saleyards has been part of the township’s history dating back to 1860. The facility hosts fortnightly prime cattle, sheep and goat sales as well as monthly cattle sales.

To enable auctioneers and buyers to properly oversee livestock, elevated viewing positions are essential. The new platforms needed to be mounted on existing steel structures, requiring a system that could be adapted to fit these conditions. This called for careful product selection and the ingenuity of the installation team to deliver a fit-for-purpose solution.

Solution

Kattsafe’s modular aluminium platform and stair access systems provided the ideal solution. Farmers and auctioneers at Kyneton Saleyards can now easily and safely access elevated areas to view livestock during sales.

The lightweight aluminium design of Kattsafe’s platforms and stairs eliminated the need for cranes or heavy lifting during installation. Its modular construction allowed for quick, straightforward installation by Kattsafe’s Approved Installer, Anchor Safe.

Thanks to Kattsafe’s unique T-bolt design, components could be adjusted to suit varying ground conditions and customised onsite to securely attach to the existing steelwork. The lightweight sections were carried into position by hand and installed section by section, minimising disruption to ongoing operations.
