Porter's Mineral Paint is a true mineral silicate coating designed for masonry substrates including concrete, cement render, brickwork, masonry blocks and sandstone. Rather than forming a film over the surface like conventional acrylic coatings, it chemically reacts with the substrate through a process known as silicification, creating a durable mineral bond. This means the coating becomes part of the substrate itself, helping to resist peeling, flaking and blistering over time.

The coating's microporous structure allows water vapour to escape from within the substrate while helping to repel water from the exterior. This breathability can assist in maintaining the health of masonry surfaces and, coupled with the coating's naturally high alkalinity, helps reduce the likelihood of algae, mould and fungal growth.
