Swedes don’t guess, they know. It’s precision in everything they do. Electrolux is bringing that quiet confidence to Australian homes, partnering with award-winning chef Matt Stone to launch its new Steam Oven range, transforming steam from a functional feature into an elevated way of living.

At a time when Australians are seeking healthier meals, elevated home entertaining and smarter kitchen tech that genuinely works, steam cooking is having its moment. And according to Stone, it’s about time.

“Steam gives you precision without pressure,” said Stone. “You can achieve crisp skin on duck, tender greens and soft, delicate desserts – all from the same oven. It’s not restrictive but empowering. Once you understand steam, you realise it doesn’t ask you to cook differently. It helps you cook better.”

Electrolux’s new range sets out to redefine what Australians expect from steam cooking, showcasing how steam can transform every meal:

Steam elevates texture: Expect crisp, golden exteriors with perfectly tender interiors when cooking with steam.
Steam works for more than vegetables: From succulent roast meats to delicate desserts and artisanal baked goods, every ingredient is elevated.
Steam speeds up cooking: Precise heat and moisture delivery means faster results without compromising flavour or texture.
Steam enhances flavour: Locks in natural aromas and intensifies every bite.
Steam only when you need it: You don’t need to use steam every time you cook with your steam oven. Full steam, light steam or none at all – your oven adapts to the dish and your cooking style.

To demonstrate the true versatility of steam and debunk myths, Matt Stone has created a Nordic-inspired menu that feels both refined and indulgent.

From soft, golden steamed Swedish buns to crispy skin duck breast with greens and blackberry sauce, and delicately steamed mussels with brown butter, his dishes showcase steam at its most expressive.

Swedish thinking designed for how we live now

Rooted in Swedish thinking, the new range makes every day cooking feel considered rather than complicated – preserving flavour and texture, reducing effort and turning familiar dishes into something exceptional.

This is steam as it was always meant to be: intuitive, adaptable, and effortlessly refined.

“Steam is one of the most powerful tools in the kitchen, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood,” said Matthew Jaber, Category Manager at Electrolux ANZ. “With our new Steam Oven range, we wanted to remove the intimidation and give people real freedom – no steam, light steam or full steam, depending on what they’re cooking and how they live. It’s not about changing habits. It’s about elevating them.”

In Sweden, good design works quietly in the background. Electrolux brings this philosophy to the kitchen through balance, simplicity and wellbeing. Steam cooking becomes more than a feature, it becomes an expression of a lifestyle built around better food and calmer moments.

The new Electrolux Steam Oven range introduces intelligent technologies that adapt to how people cook today:

SteamBake: Light Steam for the secret to perfect baking
SteamCrisp: Medium Steam for juicy roasts and crispy crackling
SteamPro: Full Steam for juicier meats and tender fish
Steamify®: For those who love to bake at 180°, just add steam to the mix automatically

Together, these innovations allow home cooks to move seamlessly. Steam, when you need it. No steam, light steam, full steam – your oven, your way.
