Moddex designed, manufactured and installed a fully customised modular balustrade system for the Honeywood Primary School in suburban Perth, Western Australia.

Located in the rapidly growing suburb of Wandi in Perth, Honeywood Primary School is a newly constructed Independent Public School under the auspice of the WA Department of Education.

Moddex’s modular balustrade solution was tailored to seamlessly fit the landscape of the school as well as meet the durability and safety demands of the students and staff.

The balustrade was customised using a fine-tuned mix of Moddex’s Conectabal commercial balustrades that combine versatility with extra safety and functionality features such as the double-offset handrails and kerb rails that were selected for the access ramp of the school.

Fully compliant for Class B buildings and specified for primary schools, Moddex balustrades are built to eliminate the risk of falling from heights. The balustrades come with the option of an offset handrail to provide safe access to mobility or vision impaired persons.

Moddex’s Intac tactile indicator pads were added to the ramp to help pedestrians with visual impairment, who have difficulty navigating their surroundings.
