Casa Graziano is a bespoke joinery showroom in Richmond’s Church Street design precinct which exemplifies a collaborative design methodology where material specification is used to shape spatial outcomes. Conceived by Mr Cabinets and designed by Biasol Studio, the 2025 project showcases veneer selection , detailing and application relevant to contemporary commercial and high-end residential interiors.

Material Specification and Application

The primary surface material throughout is Elton Group's Eveneer ALPI Xilo Planked White veneer applied across vertical planes to create visual and material continuity throughout the space.

The specification resolves key technical challenges, including tight-radius curved detailing and floor-to-ceiling joinery integration, illustrating the veneer’s performance beyond conventional flat-panel installations.

Supporting materials include Taj Mahal marble, Ceppo Romano travertine, Breccia Tramonto and Jurassic Light Onyx, with hardware and finishes incorporating Blum soft-close components, Fibonacci stone tiles, and Bauwerk paint. The tonal palette allows craftsmanship and junction detailing to remain at the forefront.

Design Process and Collaborative Framework

Casa Graziano evolved through an iterative design–make process, led by Biasol Studio and Mr Cabinets’ production team and celebrating the collaboration of a tight group of suppliers. Extensive prototyping and material testing formed part of the early documentation phase, enabling resolution of complex junctions, particularly curved veneer detailing, grain and pattern matching and integrated hardware solutions, before fabrication began.

As founder Derek De Betta notes, early engagement with Elton Group and opportunities for specifying the veneer in a variety of formats, allowed his team to refine installation protocols and spatial junctions specific to large-format veneer applications in complex geometries. The outcome is a spatial experience where materiality informs form, not the reverse.

Industry Engagement: Dettaglio Event

In October 2025, Elton Group hosted Dettaglio at an industry forum held on-site at Casa Graziano with architects, interior designers, and specifiers in attendance. The session examined installation methodology and practical specification questions around substrate options and preparation, prototyping and finish.
