Anodising and the environment

Anodising is the all-electric transformation of the surface of the aluminium without the addition of paint or powders. Its outstanding environmental credentials are now becoming well recognised.

With AAF anodising transitioning to renewable electricity, it will be the first choice in the future, where sustainability and achieving net zero carbon emissions are the focus.

Compared to other aluminium finishes, anodising has the:

Lowest initial carbon footprint
Longest serviceable life
Lowest cost of recycling

CPD course

The new architectural CPD course, Aluminium Finishing Innovations – Improving Performance & Prioritising Sustainability, delivers practical insights into innovations in architectural aluminium finishes, and the environmental, aesthetic, usability and performance aspects that architects, designers, and specifiers should consider.

By the conclusion of the course, you should be able to:

Outline the benefits of aluminium finishing for both internal and external applications
Outline the potential negative environmental impacts of products of this type and ways they can be addressed
Identify the regulations and standards relating to aluminium finishing
Identify the latest developments and innovations associated with aluminium finishing

We invite you to participate for free at CPD Live now.

AAF Evergrain® is more durable than sublimation

Australia’s most durable woodgrain finish is made possible with Evergrain®. The unique combination of powder coating process, technology, and DULUX super-durable powders maximises surface durability and sustains a consistent appearance throughout its life.

Evergrain's multi-layer, powder-on-powder woodgrain finish offers unmatched durability and colour retention compared to common sublimation process woodgrain finishes. Evergrain’s use of only super durable architectural-grade powders, without the sublimation ink process, guarantees the grain to be more than twice as durable as sublimation.

DULUX super-durable powders are supported by Alumi Shield™ warranties, which guarantee the durability of the coated aluminium for 25 years and colour retention for 20 years.

Evergrain® delivers several sustainability advantages. Powder coating produces less waste and volatile organic compounds than liquid paint. Its extended surface durability lowers its whole-of-life emissions. The aluminium substrate is endlessly recyclable. Plus, it delivers the beauty of natural timber without the impacts of forestry.
