Aurecon announces hiring spree in New Zealand

Global engineering and infrastructure advisory company Aurecon has appointed three new leaders, Karl Wilkinson, Craig Stevenson and Anita Milne to help deliver New Zealand’s rising need for more sustainable, efficient and resilient buildings.

Global engineering and infrastructure advisory company Aurecon has appointed three new leaders, Karl Wilkinson, Craig Stevenson and Anita Milne to help deliver New Zealand’s rising need for more sustainable, efficient and resilient buildings.

“We are moving towards an increasingly digital, interconnected society and with it comes the realisation that everything we know will change. Buildings of the future will put people at the centre of its designs and, while giving its occupants an easier and safer life, complex technology will be at the heart. It has the potential to reshape our industry over the next 30 years,” says Nick Gordge, Aurecon’s buildings leader for New Zealand.

Craig Stevenson has been appointed service line leader – structural. An Aurecon technical director with over 35 years domestic and international experience, his leadership roles span a range of developments for Aurecon’s retail clients across New Zealand, as well as leading teams on seismic assessments of the property portfolios of many of Aurecon’s key clients.

“I think it is critical that we are fully aligned with our clients’ businesses so that we can understand their challenges. This new role gives me the opportunity to create a highly specialised team which will evolve to match the needs of our clients and construction industry changes,” says Stevenson.

Anita Milne, the new technical director, building services brings to Aurecon specific focus on commercial property and the education sector after over 15 years’ experience with international consultancies on a range of sectors such as commercial office, education and retail. “I’m excited to be able to use my knowledge and experience to lead teams where my expertise will make a positive difference for our clients’ projects,” says Milne.

Karl Wilkinson – health sector leader & service line leader – mechanical services had been a technical director with an international consultancy working in New Zealand and Singapore.

“What excites me about this role is the ability to bring my international experience to New Zealand healthcare projects through Aurecon’s human-centred design approach,” says Wilkinson.
