A new luxury apartment development has been completed in Chatswood as developers respond to continued demand for premium design-led residences in Sydney’s North Shore.

Designed by award-winning practice SJB for Central Element and built by iCIRT-rated builder Growthbuilt, Ethos sets a new benchmark for luxury living, with the $175-million mixed use residential project delivering boutique apartments and ground-floor retail space in the heart of Chatswood CBD, within walking distance of the Metro station.

Located at 15 Ellis Street, Ethos is the first new luxury apartment development in more than four years in Chatswood, one of Sydney’s most vibrant and connected urban centres. The project adds 49 new apartments to the city’s high-end residential market alongside approximately 1,200sqm of retail and commercial space, activating frontages to Pacific Highway, Ellis Street and Crispe Lane.

SJB’s design targets owner-occupiers and downsizers seeking spacious homes in a highly connected urban setting. The apartments include one, two and three-bedroom configurations, with limited residences on each floor and layouts focused on privacy, natural light, cross ventilation and expansive views to the CBD, the Northern Beaches and the Blue Mountains.

According to the developer, Central Element, the project recorded strong buyer interest during its launch, with more than half of the residences sold shortly after release. The development also achieved a reported suburb record sale of $7.2 million for a three-bedroom sub-penthouse, reflecting deep demand for luxury living in Chatswood.

SJB’s design for the luxury apartment building features a sculptural carved stone facade referencing the ridgelines of Sydney’s North Shore to stand out distinctively on the Chatswood skyline. Inside, the homes are curated with premium fixtures and finishes, open-plan living areas and light-filled interiors to create an elevated sanctuary for residents.

Shared resident amenities include a wellness studio for yoga and exercise, as well as a rooftop sky lounge and terrace with spaces for entertaining, working and social connection. The project has also secured a 4 Star Green Star rating through the integration of passive environmental design principles, energy-efficient systems and durable materiality.

The developer has now released a final collection of two and three-bedroom apartments to the market, including the building’s exclusive penthouse residence, offering an opportunity for buyers to move into Chatswood’s most prestigious new address.

Ethos joins a growing list of projects delivered by Central Element across Sydney, including Pienza Neutral Bay, 25hours Hotel The Olympia Paddington and Ballamac House Coogee, with Bianca Drummoyne also approaching completion.
