One of Australia’s most prolific architecture photographers will present a photography masterclass and evening talk in Canberra this month.

Victorian-based photographer John Gollings will conduct a hands-on photography class on Thursday 30 April that will focus on capturing the perfect landscape image, and include site visits to the National Arboretum Canberra and Parliament House.

Gollings will also deliver an evening talk on the same day about his landscape architecture photography work over the past few decades and his images of the landscapes of China, USA, the Australian outback and aerial landscapes and urban parks.

On capturing Australian landscape architecture, Gollings says this:

“The newest landscape work in Australia is very exciting and the public is responding accordingly,” he says.

“Landscapes are accessible to everyone and add richness to our lives. Getting it on film, with the energy of people interacting with it along with the perfect light, makes it all worthwhile.”

The events will coincide with an exhibition ‘Site Seeing: A decade of landscape architecture through the lens’, which will be on show at the Gallery of Australian Design, Canberra until 15 May.

Site Seeing will present eight of the most engaging works of landscape architecture from the past ten years through a suite of iconic images by leading Australian architectural photographers including John Gollings, Christopher Frederick Jones and Dianna Snape.
