The latest update of Geoscape means that almost every tree and building in Australia has been mapped with surface cover at 30 metres resolution.

Geoscape is an analytics-ready 3D built environment dataset created by PSMA Australia, owned by all of the governments of Australia. It captures location-based insights for every address in the country.

Release 5 now includes all Australian capital city buildings data, with Melbourne and Darwin added to the dataset, as well as significant increases in surface cover and tree location information.

Building footprints and heights, as well as roof construction, surface cover, tree heights, and the presence of solar panels and swimming pools, have now been captured for Alice Springs, Esperance, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga, Rockhampton and some other urban areas.

Surface cover at 30 metres resolution is complete for all of Australia in this release, with the inclusion of Victoria and the Northern Territory data for the first time.

Extra building features across all states and territories – now up to 3,376,000 in NSW, 2,520,000 in Queensland and 2,850,000 in Victoria
Remote community data for Saibai Island, Mapoon and Aurukun in NT
Alignment with the latest releases of Cadlite, G-NAF, and Administrative Boundaries datasets
Quality refinements for accuracy and currency
