Pinterest has recently opened the doors to its new Sydney headquarters, designed in collaboration with Gensler.

Located at 2 Park Street, Pinterest’s Sydney office reimagines the traditional workplace as a creative sanctuary, with the design drawing inspiration from Dorothea Mackellar’s poem, My Country, and translating iconic Australian landscapes into a vibrant interior experience rich in texture, tone and warmth.

The interior spaces have been intentionally designed to inspire – not just to reflect the Pinterest brand, but also celebrate the creative passions of its users. Soft curves, tactile surfaces, and a natural palette evoke a sense of calm and connection to place, resulting in a space that champions design-led storytelling.

The carpet in The Red Centre is designed by Indigenous textile artist Helena Geiger of Gumbaynggir heritage from Northern NSW. The lighting in this room is custom-designed to mimic the Uluru Field of Lights Installation, which symbolises the desert blooming after rain.

Most of the interior elements from Australian-designed furniture and Indigenous artworks to handcrafted pieces by local small businesses were sourced and curated via the Pinterest platform.

For instance, the wall panels in Salt Lakes are designed by Indigenous artist Jean Baptiste Apuatimi. The Pav features Sally Caroline Lunetta bar stools, Coco Flip Bellini low stools and Salt Gypsy surfboards, all sourced locally.

Most of the terraces are accessible and equipped with ramps to the outdoor space.

The design celebrates all the natural attributes of Australia as it takes you on a meandering journey full of the colours, textures and climates unique to this country.

The design concept comes to life across four distinct zones:

Where the forest meets the sea: Reflecting the lush coastal landscapes – in the MPR, servery and conference rooms.
Sun, surf and sand: Capturing the quintessential Australian beach vibe – in the reception, barista, EBC and breakout room.
The Red Centre: Drawing inspiration from the Uluru Field of Lights – in the immersive workpoint and hidden room.
Adventures at the end of the world: Hinting at the wild and untamed beauty found at Australia's extremes – in the print station and workstations.

Pinterest’s new Sydney HQ is more than a workspace – it’s a cultural hub designed to foster creativity, collaboration and connection between teams, partners and the broader industry.
