Frasers Property Australia CEO Anthony Boyd has been appointed to the Property Industry Foundation board, for a term of three years.

The Foundation is intent on reducing youth homelessness, teaming up with property and construction bodies to build homes for homeless youth and has provided ongoing support to help young Australians rebuild their lives for 25 years. The Foundation hopes to build 300 bedrooms for homeless youth by 2025.

“The numbers are alarming and must be addressed, and that’s what the Foundation is about. Every night, for a variety of reasons, an estimated 44,000 young Australians do not have a safe and secure place to call home. The Property Industry Foundation is focused on making a tangible difference to this issue and the passion to do so among the Board, and in the industry more broadly, is evident,” says Boyd.

“The Property Industry Foundation represents the best of what our industry has to offer in terms of capability and collaboration, and as part of the Board I look forward to building on the legacy of the great people which have guided the Foundation into the position it is in today.”

Property Industry Foundation CEO Kate Mills says the entire organisation is excited by Boyd coming on board.

“Anthony and Frasers Property Australia have been long term supporters of the Foundation and, to date, have been our partners to build three homes for homeless youth. We are grateful and excited to have Anthony join the board and bring his unique talent, expertise and perspective to the work of the Property Industry Foundation,” she says.

Frasers Property was involved in delivering a new residence for four disadvantaged youths and two live-in carers in Melbourne’s south-east. Dubbed Clayton House, the development was a three-way partnership between Frasers Property Australia, the Property Industry Foundation and the Lighthouse Foundation. Clayton House is the third home Frasers Property has delivered as part of the wider national Haven Project, with the first two being Bonbeach House in Victoria, and Blacktown House in NSW.

As a member of the Board, Boyd will work with the other Foundation Directors to enhance the strategy and business outcomes for the Foundation. The Frasers Property CEO will utilise his wide ranging knowledge, networks and insights to increase the impact, while contributing to the composition and diversity of the Foundation.

There are approximately 44,000 Australian youths currently sleeping on the streets. The Property Industry Foundation exists to assist those unable to live with their families or in foster care.

The Foundation’s flagship home building program is the Haven Project. For every dollar raised through the Foundation’s fundraising initiative, it is matched with in-kind donations of skills, labour and goods from the property and construction industry, to double the value of every $1 donated.
