Turner has announced the addition of a new Director and two Associate Directors in a period of solid growth for the practice.

Shewanna Mendis (pictured right) has been elevated to the role of Director. An employee of the practice for more than 20 years, evolution is what excites the new Director the most for the future.

“At Turner, we’ve always had an urban design sensibility and I’ve been lucky enough to work on some of Sydney’s most transformative urban renewal projects,” she says.

“We’ve recently expanded into experiential design and it’s incredibly rewarding to touch a project at every single stage. We look forward to amplifying this offering and applying it to more transformative projects in NSW and London.”

Mendis says the practice is very proud of the team’s diversity.

“We’re diverse in culture and diverse in talent – diverse in every possible aspect. We fundamentally recognise talent, design skill and thinking.”

Mendis will now oversee the design development of Turner’s projects, ensuring smooth delivery for clientele while developing staff through training and mentoring.

Aniss Adler (pictured left) has been promoted to Associate Director and Head of Experiential Design, with Brian Fong (pictured centre) joining Adler as a new Associate Director.

Adler is an experienced Art Director and Graphic Designer who joined Turner in 2018. She has built the entire Experiential Design department from the ground up. Fong holds more than 20 years of experience in the built environment, designing projects in Australia, China and the UK. Throughout his career, he has delivered major masterplanning, medium and high-density residential and mixed use development projects.
