A new North Sydney residential development has incorporated a rooftop cinema and garden, a trend popularised in Melbourne.

The 11 storey building has been designed by Mayoh Architects with the interiors by Kerry Selby Brown and is being developed by Legacy Property,

There will be 104 apartments which will range in size from studios, one and two-bedroom apartments, all with lift access and balconies. Interiors include open-plan layouts and kitchens with Caesarstone benchtops and European appliances.

The building is stepped back, and the articulated façade creates a variety of balcony types – from indoor/outdoor wintergarden spaces on the podium levels (levels one-five) to terraces of up to 40sqm for the level six apartments and open balconies with north-east aspect district views for the apartments located within the tower levels.

Curtis Field, Director of Project Marketing at Colliers International said a rooftop cinema is fairly unique for an apartment project in Sydney, and they are more common in Melbourne.

“Some of the younger couples and singles who have bought in the project have found the rooftop cinema very appealing, a great way to entertain a group of friends, specifically for grand final nights or to view new movie releases,” he said.

With a population of over 6,000 residents, North Sydney’s reputation as a strong residential community is growing by the day. Recent Census data shows that the typical North Sydney resident is young and well-educated, and households have an average income of $2,300 per week.
