Consumer-facing home renovation and design website Houzz has launched in Australia, promising opportunities for architects to liaise directly with prospective renovators.

The site lays claim to the world’s largest online database of professional home photos and hosts information.

A number Australian architects and designers are already showcasing their projects on the site, the aim to connect directly with homeowners who are looking for inspiration and for professionals to hire.

Houzz conducted a survey of over 13,000 homeowners prior to the launch, which found 75 per cent of those Australians on the site were planning to decorate their homes in the next two years and 41 per cent planning to build an addition or renovate.

CEO and co-founder of Houzz, Adi Tatarko, comments: “We want to make the home renovation and design process more fun and productive for everyone involved by providing technology and tools that help every step of the way.”
