An independent bookstore has opened in Melbourne to fill the void made by the closure of the Australian Institute of Architect's (AIA) Architext bookstores.
Uro Publications has announced that their bookshop is now open for business – virtually at www.uropublications.com, and physically at 5/71 Rose Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne.
Uro claims that although there are many bookstores around Australia that carry architecture and design books, there’s will effectively be Australia’s only bookstore dedicated purely to design in the built environment.
A couple of months ago, the AIA identified four bookstores to ensure Institute members continued to have access to architecture and design books. These were Boffins Books in Perth, Folio Books in Brisbane, Metropolis in Melbourne, and Published Art in Sydney. Uro’s new store will certainly be one to add to this list.
