Commercial Architecture – Small

The Sustainability Awards 2025 celebrate outstanding contributions to sustainable design, and the Commercial Architecture (Small) category recognises projects that deliver high performance and sustainability in a compact footprint.

This category is open to Class 5, 6, 7, and 8 buildings of 500sqm or less, showcases the best in professional and commercial architecture, from boutique office spaces and retail outlets to small industrial developments and mixed-use buildings.

These projects prove that size is no barrier to intelligent design, energy efficiency, and environmental impact reduction. DuraCube is the proud sponsor of this crucial Sustainability Awards category.

Smaller commercial spaces present unique challenges, requiring architects and developers to maximise efficiency without compromising on sustainability or aesthetics.

The best projects in this category integrate energy-efficient materials, passive design strategies, and flexible, future-proofed layouts to ensure long-term usability and minimal environmental impact.

Recognition in this category provides an opportunity to showcase leadership in sustainable commercial architecture. A win or nomination highlights the project’s success in balancing functionality, sustainability, and design excellence.

A standout entry will demonstrate a holistic approach to sustainability, where thoughtful material selection, energy-efficient systems, and innovative space planning come together to create a high-performing commercial environment.

Projects that respond intelligently to their site, climate, and end-users while minimising resource consumption are strong contenders in this category.

Entries are open for the 2025 program, click here for more information.
