Zip Water has released its latest Sustainability Report, highlighting a year of innovation and impact across product design, manufacturing, and operations – with clear benefits for both commercial clients and home consumers.

Zip Water maintains its five key commitments linked to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals:

1. Health and wellness through safer and cleaner drinking water

2. Reducing single-use plastics

3. Mitigating climate change

4. Increasing diversity, equity and inclusion

5. Promoting responsible business conduct

Covering the period from January 1 to December 31, 2024, the report outlines how the business is reducing its environmental footprint while delivering high-performance hydration solutions across homes, workplaces, hospitality venues and public spaces.

Key achievements include:

The launch of Zip’s most sustainable HydroTap yet, featuring low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants to meet evolving climate regulations
The transition to dry manufacturing for its core product range, eliminating 100% of wastewater from the process
Continued investment in renewable energy, including a solar expansion at Zip’s NSW manufacturing facility
Major progress in the removal of unnecessary packaging materials and increasing the use of recyclable content
The launch of our superior filtration – protecting consumers against harmful contaminants
Ongoing leadership in design for sustainability, with verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and new consumer tools like the HydroTap Impact Calculator

“We’re proud of how far we’ve come – from sustainable design to clean manufacturing and everything in between,” says Mike Abbott, Managing Director of Zip Water Australia and New Zealand. “Whether it’s a workplace fitout or a residential kitchen upgrade, we want to give people smarter, more sustainable choices when it comes to water.”

The latest report also highlights the company’s commitment to social responsibility, including delivering safe drinking water to remote Australian communities through its partnership with SOURCE Hydropanels.

Zip Water products are now used by more than 25 million people globally each day and help prevent over 2.7 billion single-use plastic bottles from entering landfill or waterways each year.
