Customers not only benefit from cost and time savings but are also able to prevent damage or soiling from other trades and movement due to moisture penetration from humidity.

Pre-primed mouldings are coated with a paint primer, eliminating the need for the use of an undercoat. With the timber mouldings delivered ready to install, this also means you will save time and money, with only the final colour to be painted.

Intrim’s unique pre-priming sealing system finishes and dries the primer in record time, allowing the mouldings to be shipped to the destination sooner, without sacrificing the quality of the finish. Unlike other pre-primed options on the market, Intrim’s coating has been designed to reduce the risk of chip-outs during cutting and installation.

Pre-primed mouldings are priced just a little higher than the equivalent raw timber version; however, you will get significant time and cost savings in installation and painting work.

Some of the advantages of Intrim’s pre-primed timber mouldings include quick installation reducing site downtime; ability to minimise moisture content intake/output due to site environment, which can otherwise cause movement in timber such as swelling, shrinkage, cupping, etc.; lower downtime and cost with less preparation and drying time required by painter; and quality product that can withstand moisture, mildew, dry rot and warping, eliminating the need to replace prematurely.

When purchasing primed mouldings for a standard home, you will need an additional $1260 over the cost of the same mouldings in raw timber. However, the same order in raw mouldings will also require approximately 28 hours (3.5 days) for a painter to sand and prime onsite at a cost around $2,100+. Purchasing primed mouldings saves days of time onsite and a minimum of $1,000 per home.
