Australia's leading telecommunications company, Telstra, partnered with Evergreen Walls on their national rollout of artificial greenery across retail stores.

This partnership aimed to transform Telstra's retail spaces with lifelike vertical gardens, enhancing both aesthetic appeal and customer experience.

Our solution

Telstra sought a creative solution to make their illuminated logo more impactful than when mounted on a plain wall. Given the materials commonly used in retail environments – such as metals, wood, and bright inset lights – the stores lacked a welcoming atmosphere. By integrating lifelike greenery such as Evergreen Country artificial green walls and Boston Fern, we were able to create a more inviting and distinctive environment.

Our design incorporated:

Greenery to frame digital screens: Enhancing visual engagement around digital displays.

Artificial wall gardens near customer consultation booths: Providing noise absorption and creating a more tranquil setting.

Biophilic principles: Emphasising natural elements in spaces often lacking natural light, such as shopping centres to better connect customers with nature.

Working around existing electrical work, store signs, fixtures, and fittings in Telstra's technically complex environments presented challenges. However, our team’s expertise ensured a seamless integration of artificial green walls, reinforcing a premium yet consistent design across all stores.

The artificial green walls have significantly enhanced the visual appeal of Telstra's retail stores, creating a welcoming environment that stands out from other retail settings. This innovative approach not only adheres to biophilic principles but also addresses practical challenges such as lighting and noise absorption.
