Renson announces the opening of a new Concept Home in Waregem, Belgium that will function as a genuine test centre for their range of ventilation, solar shading and outdoor living products. Located close to their headquarters on the E17, the new Renson Concept Home has been designed as a modern family home that will offer a real-life test environment to conduct and monitor experiments on their products under real living conditions.

To initially operate as a real-life test environment, the Concept Home will subsequently have residents to allow for collection of practical data, which will be used as research material for the development of new technologies as well as help achieve realistic objectives for energy-efficient, healthy and comfortable living.

According to CEO Paul Renson, the home is equipped with three different ventilation systems to enable comparison under exactly identical conditions. But the latest gadgets to prevent overheating indoors are also built in, he added.

The Renson Concept Home will also serve as an experience centre for professional customers such as architects, installation engineers and consultancies among others. As a textbook example of a nearly-zero-energy building with the latest techniques for the best indoor air quality, comfortable indoor temperatures and pleasant outdoor living, the Concept Home reveals how the intelligent use of sustainable, natural elements such as light and air contributes in a sustainable manner to healthy and comfortable living.

Flemish Energy Minister Bart Tommelein says: "I welcome companies investing in experiments such as these to support the search for the most energy-efficient technologies for a healthy indoor climate. This home will provide accurate information as to how the technologies used interact. That way, theory and practice can be better matched to one another. We do have to handle energy more efficiently to achieve our European objectives, but also to keep energy bills affordable."

For Renson, the Concept Home is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the possibilities of innovation. Though the home is constructed on the basis of existing concepts, it does provide scope for new developments.

"This Concept Home gives us the opportunity to experiment with innovations that are responding to the rapidly changing architectural aspects of building and renovation," Paul Renson adds.
