Built in the 1970s, this residential complex was grappling with widespread issues typical of older timber-framed windows, including rotting, termite damage, air leakage, and inadequate thermal and acoustic performance. Located near a busy road, residents dealt with unwanted noise and uncomfortable temperatures, leading to high energy bills and frequent maintenance headaches. The project set out to address these challenges by enhancing thermal performance, minimising noise pollution, and reducing upkeep associated with the aging timber windows.

When it came to execution, APS Double Glazing knew careful planning was crucial due to the building's original structure. The mix of cement sheet infill panels and corner windows spanning multiple levels meant that structural integration and phasing the installation needed to be handled expertly. Coordinating with various apartment owners and adhering to body corporate regulations added an extra layer of complexity. However, the team rose to the challenge, replacing the old windows with larger, fully framed glazed units that maximised natural light, improved facade performance, and ensured visual consistency throughout the partially upgraded sections.

Manufactured from rigid, high-quality uPVC formulations, the profiles incorporate recycled material without compromising structural performance or dimensional stability.
