In modern commercial design, flooring does more than cover ground - it guides users, defines zones, and sets the tone for how a space feels. Karndean’s refreshed Opus collection takes this seriously, offering a performance-first update that puts creative control back in the hands of architects and specifiers.

Designers and specifiers today are looking for more than just flooring – they're looking for solutions that support the way spaces work, flow and feel. The newly refreshed Opus collection delivers exactly that: a commercial flooring solution that balances creative freedom, technical performance, and sustainability in every detail.

Whether it’s a retail rollout, multi-residential development, education project, or aged care fitout, Opus is designed to meet the demands of high-traffic, compliance-sensitive spaces, without compromising on visual impact.

Now featuring multiple slip-rated options* for NCC-compliant safety products, Opus supports specifications that require safety compliance without compromising on aesthetics. The range also introduces new large-format planks (up to 1,220mm x 228mm) and tiles (up to 457mm x 610mm), helping architects and designers achieve a clean, expansive look that supports today’s open-plan, multi-use layouts.

The gluedown format and coordinated design palette also support zoning, transitions between functions, and the use of laying patterns to guide flow or define different spaces – ideal for commercial interiors with complex layouts.

Vermeer Oak WP427 + Salute Blanco SP743 is a striking combination of warm, reclaimed wood tones and vibrant terrazzo fragments. Together, they create natural zoning and intuitive wayfinding within a co-working space – balancing authentic character with contemporary expression.

Visually, the refreshed Opus collection includes an expanded palette of modern stone and timber designs. From cool industrial greys to rich, warm wood tones, each product has been developed with clarity, tonal variation, and texture in mind, offering versatility across education, healthcare, retail, build-to-rent, and public spaces.

Slip ratings for every environment

Opus offers both P3 and P4 slip-rated formats, so you can select the right level of grip for your project:

P3/R9-R10 Slip Rating: Ideal for general commercial environments where safety, aesthetics and ease of maintenance are a priority.
P4/R10-R11* Slip Rating: Designed with an enhanced surface texture for added grip and available by indent order, ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions.

Coastal Eucalypt WP434 is inspired by Australia’s rugged, eucalyptus-filled coastlines. This design features warm golden tones, natural grain patterns, and soft embossing. A versatile choice for interiors seeking organic elegance and a relaxed, earthy aesthetic.

Backed by FloorScore® and Global GreenTag™ certifications, and with Karndean as a founding member of the ResiLoop™ industry initiative, Opus supports improved indoor air quality, material transparency, and the transition toward circular flooring solutions.

“Opus has become a go-to for our commercial clients because it delivers the sweet spot between design flexibility, durability, and value. The brand’s longevity is a testament to the performance it delivers. The addition of SR-rated options and large-format reflects our focus on evolving with the needs of architects and specifiers,” says John Monroe, Commercial Sales Manager, Karndean Designflooring.

Every Opus design is thoughtfully crafted to feel authentic underfoot while standing up to the demands of modern commercial spaces. This isn’t about imitation – it’s about capturing the character of nature, made accessible through high-performance luxury vinyl.

*Opus P4/R10-R11 rated designs feature an enhanced finish with a rougher surface texture, specifically designed for commercial environments requiring a high slip rating.
