New state-of-the-art modular complex replaces outdated amenities at Timbrell Park
The building upgrade project enhances accessibility, sustainability, and community spaces, featuring a 325m² multipurpose building and a 170m² amenities building along with improved pathways, wheelchair access, and comprehensive landscaping, showcasing ATCO Structures' commitment to creating functional, modern community spaces.
ATCO Structures has successfully completed a significant recreational facility upgrade at Timbrell Park in Sydney's inner west, replacing a 1970s brick amenities building with a contemporary modular complex for the City of Canada Bay Council.
The project delivers enhanced facilities at Timbrell Park, a regional recreational destination utilised by sports clubs, community groups, fitness enthusiasts, schools, families, and council events. The upgrade significantly improves accessibility, enhances sustainability, and creates diverse spaces to better serve the community's needs.

Designed by CM+, the development features a 325m² multipurpose building and a 170m² amenities building connected by common walkways and a community BBQ area. The striking architectural design incorporates various forms of exterior cladding and a distinctive curved ceiling-to-floor window that creates a modern aesthetic.

The amenities building houses change rooms, referee/administration rooms, a first aid room, and a canteen with a commercial kitchen. The multipurpose building includes a large sports storage room with roller door access, public toilets, and a spacious sports administration room.

ATCO Structures' scope of work extended beyond the buildings themselves to include new stairs, pathways, and wheelchair access ramps with tactile paving, as well as comprehensive landscaping with turf and gardens.

This project demonstrates ATCO Structures' expertise in delivering contemporary, functional facilities that enhance community spaces while meeting modern accessibility and sustainability standards.
