The Orlando is a beautiful home situated in the heart of Maylands, Western Australia. Designed by X-Space Architects based on architect Orlando Catenacci’s overseas travel experiences, The Orlando brings together lavish hotel luxury and exclusive island villa living under the same roof.

The Orlando is a standing example of the freedom of design that can be achieved by architects when they use Masterwall external cladding in their build. Part of a subdivided block on Kathleen Avenue, Catenacci’s property is a narrow lot measuring just 234 square metres. The odd block shape and aggressive slopes represented the right charm for Catenacci, given the stunning city views from the land, now visible through strategically placed aluminium window frames on the upper level.

The Skyline capless system replaces traditional metal parapet capping with an advanced waterproof membrane able to withstand the harsh Australian conditions. By replacing metal capping with a renderable and flexible butyl membrane over the head of the parapet wall, the Skyline system gives architects and designers the opportunity to create a continuous, monolithic finish on parapets and balcony heads, adding to the clean aesthetic on the skyline of the building.
