Stressing jacks and complementary electric pumps from Enerpac are available for construction, engineering and infrastructure industries working on elevated structure projects such as bridges, beams, production plants, resource facilities and high-rise buildings.

The single and double-acting stressing jacks, as well as the ZU4 pump used to actuate them are among the latest compact and easily handled high-pressure 700 bar hydraulic technologies available from Enerpac.

Part of a comprehensive family of stressing products from Enerpac, the jacks, weighing 19-28kg are actuated by Enerpac’s high pressure ZU4 series electric pumps featuring higher oil flow and bypass pressure, cooler running and 18 per cent less current draw than comparable pumps. Optional pendant control is available for the ZU4 pump.

Mr Denis Matulin, Regional Manager, Enerpac Australia and New Zealand explains that the pump’s powerful 1.25kw universal electric motor provides high power-to-weight ratio and excellent low-voltage operating characteristics, which can be important on remote sites.

To complement the stressing jacks, Enerpac has engineered a new version of the ZU4 pump, the ZU4408REA300, featuring a bleed-off valve. Once the cable is stressed to the correct tension, the operator slowly opens the valve to allow the wedges to bind on to the cable without slippage and with enhanced efficiency and safety.

Combinations of the ZU4408REA300 pump and Enerpac jacks are available throughout Australia and New Zealand. Long-established Enerpac distributor Jonel Hydraulics has introduced a special promotion in New Zealand until June 30, 2015.

Enerpac’s family of stressing products includes a complete range of anchors, chucks, wedges and stressing jack systems for the pre-tensioning and post-tensioning industries.

Single-acting PTJ models, with spring-seating and optional power-seating are equipped with the new Enerpac RC post-tensioning cylinders with a 254mm stroke, ideal for slab-on-grade applications. Double-acting 6DAH models are available in 150mm, 200mm and 300mm strokes.
