Appointed on 24 October for a three-year term, Prentice joins a distinguished group of leaders from across the built environment who provide independent, expert design advice on projects of state significance.

These include major cultural and transport infrastructure, new urban precincts, education facilities, and diverse housing initiatives.

Established in 2018, the State Design Review Panel plays a critical role in shaping better planning and design outcomes by identifying opportunities and challenges early in the development process.

The panel’s insights not only strengthen confidence in design quality among decision-makers but also help streamline project assessment and delivery.

Membership of the panel is highly competitive, with members selected for their expertise, leadership, and industry recognition.

Guided by its mission to realise public value through great design, the panel focuses on sharing design knowledge, integrating urban design principles, designing with Country, building design capability, and supporting a sustainable future.

Its work is organised around four key streams: climate resilience, housing, great places, and design advisory.

Prentice’s appointment reflects both his professional standing and Woods Bagot’s continued commitment to advancing design excellence in the public realm.
