Architectus is expanding its design capabilities across Australia, with new senior appointments in Brisbane and Melbourne and the establishment of a dedicated Landscape Architecture team in Perth.

The appointments span the practice’s Landscape, Living and Infrastructure teams, adding expertise across residential, commercial, hospitality, infrastructure and public realm projects.

New leaders join Living and Infrastructure teams

In Brisbane, Nicole Milne has joined Architectus as a Principal within the Living team. She brings considerable experience across multi-storey residential, hotel and commercial developments.

Her portfolio includes a 394-apartment luxury residential tower in a Queensland coastal suburb, a large retail and residential masterplan for a new Brisbane precinct, and a Gold Coast development combining a 200-room hotel with 160 residences.

Milne’s design approach explores the connections between nature, the built environment and cultural context, with sustainable design principles forming an important part of her work.

Melbourne’s Living team has also been strengthened with the appointment of Cameron Donald as Associate Principal. His experience encompasses residential and commercial architecture, with projects including Collins Wharf 4, the award-winning 35 Spring Street and the 6 Star Green Star-rated 171 Collins Street.

The relationship between architecture and interiors is central to Donald’s approach, with planning, materiality and detailing considered together to create integrated environments.

Architectus has also appointed Adrianne Fisher as an Associate Principal in Melbourne, where she will join the Infrastructure team as a design leader.

Fisher brings more than three decades of international experience in the Netherlands. She most recently served as Director of Advanced Buildings at OMA, working on large-scale and complex architectural projects.

Her international portfolio includes the Prestige Liberty office towers and retail centre in Mumbai, comprising 58- and 36-storey towers; the 24,000sqm Palais de Justice courts project in Lille, France; and the CCTV Headquarters and Masterplan in Beijing – a 600,000sqm development incorporating television and broadcasting studios, offices, a hotel and underground car park.

Landscape team expands into Perth

The practice is also extending its Landscape Architecture capability into Western Australia, with Senior Associate Tika Mukherjee, Senior Landscape Architect Qian Yap and Landscape Architect Stella Gray Broun joining its Perth studio.

The three designers previously worked together at former Perth practice PLACE Lab, contributing to public realm projects that won multiple AIA and AILA awards.

Their arrival establishes a dedicated Landscape Architecture presence for Architectus in Western Australia. Their first major project with the practice is the New Mandurah Hospital, which has recently commenced construction.

The Perth appointments form part of the broader expansion of Architectus’ national Landscape Architecture team. The group now comprises 27 landscape architects working across projects spanning different scales and sectors, with additional recruitment underway in several markets.

“It’s been incredibly rewarding to establish and expand our landscape offer in just a few short years,” says Esther Dickins, Principal and Landscape Lead at Architectus. “We’re now looking forward to bringing that capability to Western Australia and making a positive impact alongside clients and collaborators from city-shaping projects to smaller, but no less meaningful, green spaces.”

The latest appointments add to Architectus’ multidisciplinary model, bringing together architecture, landscape, urban design, interiors and specialist expertise across its Australian projects.
