Woods Bagot continues to redefine educational architecture in Sydney, building on its award-winning legacy with a strengthened local team and a suite of major project openings in 2025.

As a global leader in education and learning design, Woods Bagot has received international recognition for their transformative school projects. The Sydney studio’s design for Meadowbank Schools earned top honours at the 2022 World Architecture Festival, winning Best School and Best Use of Colour ahead of 17 shortlisted schools from China, Australia, India, Denmark, US and Spain.

Building on this momentum, Woods Bagot’s work on Mosman High School has garnered further recognition, registering wins and nominations at local and international architectural award programs. The innovative and community-centred design for the school reflects the studio’s philosophy of creating spaces that are playful, flexible and inclusive, and promote future-focused learning.

The Sydney studio is currently working on ten primary, secondary and tertiary design projects across NSW.

“Our team in Sydney is helping to curate some of the best educational and research facilities across the globe,” says Woods Bagot Director and Global Sector Leader – Education & Science, Sarah Ball. “These projects span the entire learning continuum – from kindergarten through Year 12 and into higher education and shaping tomorrow's leaders.”

Woods Bagot’s Sydney studio is also contributing to policy by curating a model for education that has since been released as part of the NSW Pattern Book for Schools.

“The team has utilised design elements from their award-winning projects to standardise school design for future SINSW projects as part of a system that creates equity and efficiency through quality design,” Ball adds.

Several of Woods Bagot’s projects are opening this year including the Macquarie Physics, Astronomy and Engineering building, Wentworth Point High School, Castle Hill Primary School, St Mary’s Cathedral College, Carlingford West Public School, and Cumberland High School.
