Melbourne-based design-led development group, Neometro has announced a new townhouse project at 146 Union Street in Brunswick, adding a fifth building to the highly sought-after inner-north suburb.

Located near the expanding Jewell Station Village precinct, this collection of three-bedroom townhomes sits within a quiet, tree-lined pocket of a popular Melbourne neighbourhood and is designed for comfort to support future residents through different stages of their lives.

“The project reflects our ongoing commitment to thoughtful residential architecture designed to meet people’s needs now and, in the future,” Neometro Director Lochlan Sinclair says.

Medium-density housing has become increasingly important in suburbs like Brunswick, where demand far exceeds supply. Sinclair notes that townhouses provide a middle ground between apartment living and traditional detached homes, allowing residents to stay connected to the culture and amenity of inner suburbs without facing prohibitive pricing or long commutes.

Neometro’s latest project also responds to the increasing demand for move-in-ready homes. Sinclair says newly built, architect-designed and energy-efficient properties can offer better value than older homes requiring significant renovation and upgrades.

At the Brunswick townhouse development, the design prioritises intuitive layouts and robust materials, with architecture that promotes natural light, airflow and thoughtful spatial flow to support everyday living. Tailored for families, the homes are built to “wear in, not wear out”.

Connection to nature is central to the project, which sits in close proximity to the City of Melbourne’s largest green space – Royal Park in the neighbouring suburb of Parkville. The 170-hectare parkland provides residents with access to native vegetation, walking trails and sporting grounds, offering a sense of calm rarely found in the inner city.

The homes open out to beautiful gardens designed by landscape studio Mud Office, seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces through large sliding doors that maximise light, ventilation and comfort. These landscaped areas are intended to support wellbeing while providing ample space to host family and friends.
