The project involved relocating the Glenview Community Care Nursing Home to a new site at 33–45 Main Street, Rutherglen.

The larger site has allowed the facility to expand from 40 to 50 beds, with residents now enjoying private rooms featuring their own ensuite bathrooms.

To create a homely environment, rooms are organised into smaller households, each with a dedicated kitchen, dining, lounge and sitting area.

Operated by Glenview Health, the new facility also includes a community room, reflection room, and other shared spaces designed for residents to spend time with one another and with their families and friends.

The dementia-friendly design of this multi-million-pound facility has been developed to promote dignity and independence, enabling residents to ‘age in place’.

The design also takes into account the positive effects of green spaces on both physical and mental wellbeing. Expansive views and an abundance of natural light help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that feels like home.

Delivered in partnership with Glenview Health and builder Zauner Construction, the project marks a major step forward in aged care for the area.

This new facility is part of the Victorian Government’s Rural and Regional Public Sector Residential Aged Care Services Revitalisation Strategy.
