The Victorian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects received a record 236 entries in its 2012 Architecture Awards.

The 2012 shortlist has been decided (see below) following 124 site visits by the Jury teams across 92 projects ranging from small inner city locations to distant regional destinations.

All project entries will be exhibited in the 2012 Victorian Architecture Awards Exhibition of Entriesm at not-for-profit gallery fortyfivedownstairs, 45 Flinders Lane, Melbourne.

Members of the public can visit the free exhibition from Tue 19 June — Sat 14 July.

The Exhibition of Entries is designed by Monash University Faculty of Art & Design students under the direction of Callum Morton and Warren Taylor.

The exhibition will showcase in digital format images of the 236 entrants. Also by the students will be short film takes of selected shortlisted entries.

Winners of the Victorian Architecture Awards will be unveiled at a gala awards presentation night on Friday 29 June at the Palladium Room, Crown Casino.

All Victorian winners will advance to the National Architectural Awards held in Perth on 1 November.

An extensive program of floor talks will soon be announced.
