The international R+T family is expanding into the Australian market by organising a world trade fair for roller shutters, doors and gates, and sun protection systems in Melbourne in 2014.

According to Roland Bleinroth, Managing Director of Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH, R+T is venturing into new territory with its premiere show in Australia. This move comes after having firmly established themselves in Shanghai and Moscow by registering increasing numbers of exhibitors and visitors each year, and an upcoming R+T Turkey show in November in Istanbul.

The R+T Australia trade fair will take place in the renowned Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 21 to 23 August 2014. The event organisers have received approximately 200 expressions of interest from Australian manufacturers and retailers as well as exhibitors from Europe, Asia and North America. Almost 40 percent of the exhibition area, which will probably be 5,000 square metres in 2014 (gross), has been pre-booked.

Bleinroth reveals that holding a trade fair in Australia is an attractive proposition for companies seeking to enter the South-East Asian market. Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH, which started R+T, a unique leading world trade fair for roller shutters, doors/gates and sun protection systems in 1965, is already on-board.

Thurain Aye, Managing Director of the event partner Link Exhibitions and official representative of Messe Stuttgart for Oceania, will be the industry expert for the Australian operation.

The Federal Association for Manufacturers of Roller Shutters and Sun Protection (BVRS) and National Federation of Door and Gate Manufacturers (BVT) are in support of this new venture. Thurain Aye expects the R+T event in Australia to become the most important industry platform in the southern hemisphere, being the first trade fair of its kind in Australia.

R+T Australia also offers the Australian construction industry a unique opportunity to get to know the latest international product innovations from the roller shutters, doors/gates and sun protection industry. Bleinroth concludes that R+T is coming to Melbourne at the right time during the development phase of the construction industry, which is seeing a revival with over 150,000 projects planned for 2014.
