Australia’s off-site construction company, prefabAUS announces the appointment of Warren McGregor as the new CEO to facilitate growth in the industry.

Australia’s off-site construction industry currently supplies three per cent of all housing, a figure that is expected to increase up to 10 to 15 per cent by 2023.

As the new prefabAUS CEO, McGregor says he is determined to connect clients and suppliers, nationally and internationally as well as help all members of the off-site construction industry develop their businesses.

McGregor notes that the prefabricated construction sector has to prepare for growth, considering that it is forecast to grow by more than 5 per cent per annum compared to the overall building industry growth of 2.3 per cent over the next decade.

McGregor brings broad experience in management consulting, project development, finance and construction in Australia and southeast Asia to his new role. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in financial and management consulting.

Having lived and worked in southeast Asia as a project management consultant for nine years, McGregor is equipped to help the Australian off-site sector forge ties with suppliers and clients in these competitive but crucial manufacturing environments.

In addition to serving as general manager of the Asia region for KPMG, McGregor was also principal of apriori advisory services, and senior adviser at Thinc Projects management consultants, where he helped companies test project proposals, develop business cases and source finance. He has advised private projects and major private-public partnerships in East Timor, the Philippines and Indonesia and arranged contract manufacturing for Australian companies in China.

McGregor also has essential hands-on experience in the Australian building sector as a research director for m3property strategists and director of a property development company since 2010.

Founding board director Damien Crough said Warren McGregor has all the skills to ensure continued rapid growth for the sector and take Australia’s prefabrication industry to the next level.
