Peter Malatt FRAIA has been appointed as the next Victorian Chapter President for the Australian Institute of Architects.

Taking over current President Jon Clements in March 2014, Malatt is the founding director of 6 Degrees Architects, a Melbourne-based firm that seeks to “design functional, aesthetic and sustainable environments that are commercially smart”.

“I am confident that Peter will bring a fresh perspective to a renewed Chapter Council (the new Chapter Councillors will be announced in later February following the election which is currently in progress),” says Clements.

“Peter brings extensive practice experience to the table and he also takes up the role following 12 months on the National Council which has provided Peter with a head start in respect of supporting the AIA’s current national agenda.

“Personally I wish Peter all the best for his two year term and I look forward to supporting Peter and the new Chapter Council in the role of Immediate Past President when I step down.”
