The Robin Boyd Foundation is inviting design professionals and enthusiasts to explore recent heritage adaptations of two 1970s residential projects, presented through the work of Richard Stampton Architecture and WOWOWA.

The Open Day on 1 March, 2026 will examine sensitive upgrades to Ramsay House (1970–72) and Crossman House (1978), originally designed by architects Charles Duncan and Kevin Borland respectively, highlighting approaches that balance conservation with contemporary living requirements.

Alterations and repairs to the Duncan-designed Ramsay House were led by architect Richard Stampton in collaboration with David Pesavento, with construction by Erbauer and landscape works by Sam Cox. The project focused on careful restoration, new interventions and the use of colour and reflective materials to retain the three-level home’s strong connection to its leafy surroundings.

The second project revisits a late-1970s residence, the Borland-designed Crossman House, first featured in Belle Magazine five decades ago. The update was undertaken by award-winning practice WOWOWA, with construction by The Carbonist and landscaping by MJB Landscape, alongside design guidance from Amanda Oliver. The renovation emphasises reuse, craftsmanship and circular design principles while carefully adapting the home for a contemporary family.
