A major new lifestyle and dining destination is coming to Sydney’s west, with Deicorp launching plans for a unique Asian-inspired culinary precinct within Melrose Central, their emerging mid-city, mixed-use development in Melrose Park set to open in mid-2026.

At the heart of Melrose Central is a first-of-its-kind street food precinct, designed to bring the high-energy buzz and delightful culinary flavours of Asia’s most iconic food streets from Hong Kong and Tokyo to Seoul and Singapore, right into Sydney’s western suburbs.

Designed by Anthony Ho of Basalt Studio, the planned dining hub will be spread across more than 4,700 sqm – more than three times the size of existing offerings such as Burwood Chinatown or Westfield Chatswood’s Hawker Lane – transforming Melrose Central into a must-visit destination for foodies from across the city.

The bold design concept will deliver an immersive experience for visitors, blurring the lines between culinary theatre, art, and entertainment as they stroll through neon-lit laneways, flanked by open kitchens and live grill stations. Eye-catching murals, interactive displays, and vibrant light installations will bring the precinct to life, with business to continue late into the night – a first for the area.

“We’ve imagined our street food concept as a graduated evolution of everything people love about Burwood Chinatown, East Village and Regent Place, elevated by the immersive artistry creating a city-style dining offer,” says Bilinda Turner, Head of Retail at Deicorp.

Beyond the innovative food precinct concept, Melrose Central has been envisioned as a “fit-for-purpose town centre” spanning 30,000sqm across four levels, with the shopping centre featuring about 100 retailers curated from the very best across Australia to deliver a complete lifestyle experience. These include Coles Supermarket, Local Grocer and Dan Murphy's, as well as a bakery, pharmacy, medical centre, gym and a dedicated wellbeing hub, in addition to variety stores, nail salons and hairdressers.

Melrose Central will also be home to 495 Turner Studio-designed apartments above the retail precinct, with residents enjoying 6,000sqm of lush podium gardens and rooftop terraces, further integrating lifestyle with urban living.

Strategically located just 6km from Parramatta CBD and 15km from Sydney CBD, Melrose Central will serve as the retail, social and lifestyle heart of the Melrose Park urban renewal precinct, which aims to deliver over 11,000 homes, 22,000 new residents, and 50,000sqm of park and open space.

Melrose Park will also offer both connection and access with a dedicated Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 stop at its doorstep and the upcoming Parramatta Gateway Bridge, which will link directly to Sydney Olympic Park and Wentworth Point.

Melrose Central’s street food precinct and the wider retail town centre are scheduled to open in mid-2026.
