The new facility represents a significant investment in the company's workforce and coincides with a milestone year for the site, which is celebrating 50 years of operations in Carole Park.

Officially opened by James Hardie APAC President John Arneil alongside Queensland Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Minister for Manufacturing and Minister for Regional and Rural Development Dale Last and Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding, the centre is designed to support a modern, connected workforce.

More than 300 employees are based on the site, with the majority drawn from the local community, reflecting James Hardie’s strong regional ties and contribution to Australian industries and the Ipswich economy.

The People Centre features upgraded workspaces, meeting rooms, employee amenities and a large indoor dining space. The design aligns with the company’s workplace philosophy of safe people, safe places and safe systems.

“The Carole Park People Centre is a reflection of our ongoing investment in supporting a high-performing, safe and supportive workplace for our people,” says Arneil. “Building this new facility was about ensuring our teams have the environment, resources and facilities they need to do their best work, while continuing to foster a culture of safety and excellence.”

“It was also the perfect opportunity to showcase the way James Hardie products and solutions can really elevate a space, whether that’s for commercial or residential purposes.”

In addition to serving as an employee hub, the building will also showcase the company's product range. Materials from the Hardie™ Architectural Collection have been incorporated throughout both the interior and exterior, highlighting the application of fibre cement cladding systems in commercial environments.

The Carole Park operation is James Hardie's largest manufacturing facility in Australia, producing Hardie™ fibre cement products developed for local climate conditions and supplying markets across Australia and New Zealand.

The opening of the People Centre forms part of the company's broader commitment to workforce development and regional manufacturing, while also reflecting its stated purpose of Building a Better Future For All™.
