A newly completed luxury house, the final release in a collection of four freestanding beach homes in Byron Bay has been put on the market for $6.5 million.

Developed by Olympic bronze medallist and former professional surfer Owen Wright, and wife singer Kita Alexander, the beach pad is located minutes from Clarkes Beach. The luxury beach home also marks the couple’s first development venture under their Paradiso Property banner, in partnership with property development group Burke Urban and luxury developer Molti.

Designed by award-winning architects Hogg & Lamb, the double-storey home includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a double garage, separate lounge, and an open-plan kitchen and dining area that flows seamlessly to a generous outdoor entertaining space, backyard and pool. It is the last of the residences to be offered to the market, with the couple retaining one of the homes.

According to Wright, the Daniels Street property was bought in 2018, with years of planning invested in the development to achieve their vision.

“When I found the Daniels Street site, I could instantly see its potential – it’s rare to find a spot this close to the beach that still feels so peaceful and family-friendly,” he recalls.

“This project has been years in the making, so to see it finished feels like a really special milestone,” he adds.

Describing the collaboration with Molti and Burke Urban as “an amazing learning experience”, Wright observes that the project “sets the bar for what we hope to do in the future”.

The new-build homes are completely freestanding – a rarity for new developments in Byron where the focus is mostly on apartments and townhouses, says Burke Urban Director Kym Burke.

“Each home is tailored to its orientation to maximise light, harness cooling breezes and enhance privacy indoors and out. They are truly exceptional properties and it has been such a joy to work with Owen, Kita and our partners to deliver something so special,” Burke says.

The property is expected to draw strong interest from prospective buyers, thanks to its exceptional design, craftsmanship and location, says Molti Managing Director Ben Teague.
